In June of 2003, a student group from my high school Spanish class in Western New York, consisting of 9 students and 2 teachers, undertook a cultural and educational exchange program with a school in Atenas, Costa Rica.
I requested excursions through Mr. Matias Zeledon, of Down To Earth, SA., a fund-raising and educational travel company, and had exceptional results. Mr. Zeledon recommended and organized an overnight was the highlight of the 17 day exchange program.
The prices were fantastic, the transportation was excellent, and the tour guides were the best the country has to offer. In fact, I felt very spoiled because we had fantastic guides at our disposal for almost two full days. In addition, the accommodations were fabulous and everything worked like clockwork and in a very timely manner.
Mr. Zeledon is an extremely hard working individual who will attend to every detail of your educational travel program. Because he is so adept in his knowledge of both worlds, he is an excellent resource to US teachers who are planning educational
trips to Costa Rica .
