Our travel programs for students include just the right combination of learning and adventure. Our vehicles never carry more than 16 to 18 passengers and each grouprs
enjoys the services of a bilingual naturalist guide 24/7. Larger than 18 groups will be divided in two or more vehicles and each vehicle will have its own bilingual naturalist guide assigned.
For a Science curriculum, we have a 10-day basic itinerary that includes 8 full days in Costa Rica. Additionally, we have an optional extension that will turn it into a comprehensive 12 day program.
The recommended extension for the Science program is Sun & Adventure
Basic Science program student itinerary:
Day 1: arrival to Costa Rica, check in and rest of the day at leisure
Day 2: Explore waterfalls, Hummingbird and Butterfly Gardens, see poison Dart Arrow Frogs and do White Water Rafting. Spend the night at a
lodge immersed in the rainforest.
Day 3: Start our Rainforest Pharmacy program with a hike. Collect and classify species. Bonfire dinner and Latin Dance lesson. Spend the night at a
lodge immersed in the rainforest.
Day 4: Before departing the Rainforest visit an organic farm where you will have a home-hosted meal. Then travel to the Arenal
area to visit the hotsprings and the Volcano. Spend the night in Fortuna.
Day 5: Depart Arenal/Fortuna for Manuel Antonio Beach with a Lunch Stop & Shopping Break in Jaco Beach. Arrive in Manuel Antonio Beach in med afternoon to
check in and do the Night Poison Dart Frog tour.
Day 6: Spend a day of Fun in the Sun in breathtaking Manuel Antonio National Park where we will bring in fresh fruit, drinks and a box lunch. Fun in the
Sun Day at the beach ends at 4 pm when the park closes and we go back to the hotel to change for a dinner out.
Day 7: Depart Manuel Antonio for a travel day to the Providencia Highlands. Lunch on the road with a breathtaking view of the Southern Pacific lowlands.
Check in at the Down to Earth Tent Camp and enjoy a bonfire dinner..
Day 8: Full day of Adventure with our Quetzal Quest, Rock Climbing, Waterfall swimming farm work. Spend the night at the Down to Earth Tent Camp.
Day 9: Depart the Tent Camp for a 15 minute drive to the Down to Earth Coffee Mill. Learn about our sustainability and ecofriendly concepts and enjoy a down home Costa Rican lunch cooked on a wood burning stove. Depart in the early afternoon for the San Jose hotel. Check in and get ready for the farewell dinner.
Day 10: Depart San Jose Hotel for the airport.
Total per person price is US$1,595 when reserving a minimum of 9 students in triple occupancy and one double for two escorts. Double suplement is $155.
Sun & Adventure Extension: this extension adds two more days. One in the Arenal/Fortuna area for a horseback ride to the Waterfalls and one in Manuel
Antonio Beach for addtl beach time. Extension available for groups of 12 at $199 each and $165 each for groups of 16 to 18 passengers.

Arenal Volcano National Park.
Day 3: Start our Language program with an interactive session explaining the Costa Rican Heritage; depending on the level of the group, this could be
carried out 100% in Spanish, 100% in English or a mix of Spanish/English. Later we will visit a local school and share with the students. In the afternoon, we will do the Lava Flows hike to Arenal Volcano. We will have an outdoor BBQ dinner
and then we will have a Latin Dance lesson.
Day 4: Morning at leisure at the lodge with hiking and birding activities included. At the end of the morning, we will travel to the most exclusive hotsprings
for an unforgettable time which includes lunch. Later afternoon cooking lesson at the lodge, the group will prepare dinner. Latin Dance practice after dinner.
Day 5: Depart Arenal/Fortuna for Manuel Antonio Beach with a Lunch Stop & Shopping Break in Jaco Beach. Arrive in Manuel Antonio Beach in mid afternoon. The
rest of the day at leisure.

South Pacific Boruca Traditions extension: this extension adds 2 nights/2 days at the Boruca Reservation where the group will be hosted at the homes of
selected artisans and community leaders. A one-of-a-kind experience for the students, this extension includes the Diablitos Dance performance, backstrap loom weaving sessions, maskmaking lessons and a bonfire farewell dinner. Extension available
for groups of 10 at $199.
