We are approaching the time when the coffee trees bloom.
According to the time it rained in late March, the blooming will happen around the 5th of April and the blooms will remain for 4 o 5 days before they start to fall off.
The blooming is an spectacle. The white flowers contrast with the deep green of the coffee leaves and everywhere you see a coffee bloom there will be a coffee bean.
The bees come from up to 6 miles away (10 kilometers) and take over the plantation for 2 to 4 days. The buzzing of the bees hovering over the trees will give the farmer a pretty accurate idea of how plentiful the harvest will be.
The scent of the coffee blooms is delicious. The coffee tree is a relative of the Jazmin so the similarities between the scents are striking.
